Pictorial boards (7-1/2" x 9-3/4") printed on cheap paper, illustrated, housed in cloth chemise and 1/2 brown morocco leather slipcase which is signed "A. B. M." for the childhood owner, Alastair Bradley Martin, whose small leather bookplate is on the front pastedown of the book. Martin was a Tennis Hall of Fame inductee, president of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, and a winner of the U. S. Open. He has been credited with helping to forge the modern era of the Grand Slam-style game. A defective copy lacking the title and other pages at the beginning, but housed in a beautiful slipcase.
