A partial manuscript, possibly unpublished. Present here are pages numbered 3, 4, 5, and 6. Baraka discusses Harlem Renaissance authors and black social movements. "The 60's were classic in terms of the proposition I have been making. The period itself was one high point of black social + political resurgence.... When Brown vs the Board of Ed proposed the end of 'Separate but equal' which had been the law of the land since 1897, America Apartheid, it demonstrated a change in the period and announced the expansion and intensification of the civil rights movement." Among the writers Baraka mentions are Langston Hughes, James Baldwin, Richard Wright, etc. Top blank margins torn and creased; stain to the middle of one page. Very Good. Item #022569
