Parker switched titles at the last moment from the rather cheerful SONGS FOR THE NEAREST HARMONICA to the darker SUNSET GUN, a reference to the cannon that is traditionally fired at the end of the day when the flag is lowered. Copy #86 of only 275 SIGNED by the poet of this collection of short poems, such as this:

Should the words they say be true,
