Item #020828 TYPED LETTER SIGNED (TLS). Eleanor ROOSEVELT.

TYPED LETTER SIGNED (TLS)

Washington DC: 8 December 1939. Letter. On White House letterhead SIGNED by the First Lady to Florida Senator Claude Pepper. In full: "Could you get this boy an appointment if you find he is worthy? Also, could you answer the mother's question about a place to live, as you know Florida better than I do?" A short but interesting letter showing the First Lady's concern and kindness for people. Claude Pepper served in the United States Senate from 1936 to 1951 and later served the Miami area in the United States House of Representatives from 1963 until 1989, the year of his death. Stains in the upper right blank margin with two small stains on the text; small portions of upper left margin torn away; Roosevelt's signature is Fine. Overall Very Good. Item #020828
