There is a very large folding hand-colored map of the state of New York and a smaller folding map of the cities of New York and Brooklyn showing the routes of the horse railroads. The plates depict bridges, coal-burning locomotives, tunnels, etc., including profile maps of railroad routes. Issued by the New York Board of Railroad Commissioners, this volume is a veritable treasure trove of images related to mid-19th century railroadiana.
