According to the title page, "with illustrations from designs by De Neuville, Bayard, Morin, Valnay, and other eminent French artists." Text in English. Contents clean. The text block of the first volume is completely detached from the covers with the front hinge of the third volume badly cracked; the second volume with rippling to the pages caused by an old waterstain; Light rubbing to the covers, paper spine labels with wear affecting legibility in some cases.
