This copy INSCRIBED and SIGNED on the front endpaper by the author: "To one Katherine Eckerts(?)/a steadfast person/from Herbert Hoover." Laid in is a ten-page pamphlet by Hoover titled "Our National Policies in This Crisis," dated 20 December 1950, printing a speech he gave in New York on that date.
