The First Edition of 1806 had only 290 pages; this Second Edition, while not quite as scarce, is considerably enlarged and improved with more illustrations. Bitting, p. 410 (citing the earliest edition as 1810); Cagle 971 (the Third Edition, also 1807, but with fewer pages); The Dictionary of National Biography: "the earliest manual of household management with any pretensions to completeness."
