Large folio (16" x 20-1/2") consisting of one signature of text (comprising the title page with colophon, brief introductory text, and a list of contents) and ten individually matted ORIGINAL SILVER PRINTS, each SIGNED and numbered by the photographer. Images are all @7" x 10" matted on a 16" x 20-1/2" stiff board with cutout covering board. Entire contents contained in a cloth clamshell box. Photographers are Eve Arnold, Jill Freedman, Ernst Haas, Andre Kertesz, Duane Michals, Inge Morath, Barbara Morgan, Eva Rubenstein, Neil Slavin, and James Van Der Zee. This is portfolio #39 of only 75 produced.

AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT FRAGMENT by Coleridge of @200 words, two pages on both sides of a sheet of paper (7-1/8" x 4-1/2") from an unknown work, unsigned, apparently from an essay or notes on English grammar, with approximately 16 lines on one side, and a portion of an outline titled Logical Nomenclature on the other. In part: ". . . is the ground of Time, and the indispensible condition of the absence of circular reasoning in all below it. The Infinitive mood corresponding to Indifference is the finite expression, or the Analogue of Identity. It is so far like this that as the Identity is, so the Indifference may be, both Verb and Substantive; but unlike inasmuch as it cannot be both in the same relation or of the same object. Rather therefore say: most of the Identity is both, so the Indifference may be neither: thus For not to dip the Hero in the stream could save the Son of Thetis from to die. . . ."

And: Camerarius. Symbolorum & emblematum ex volitatibus et insectis.... Nuremberg, 1596. And: Camerarius. Symbolorum & emblematum ex aquatilibus et reptilibus.... [Nuremberg?], 1604. Edited by the renowned German physician and naturalist J. Camerarius's son, Ludwig Camerarius. First Collected Edition of the four volumes, this copy lacking the general title page and five pages of preliminary matter but retaining the blanks at the end of the third and fourth parts. 102 ff.; 103 ff. [1]; [2] 102 ff. [2]; [4] 100 ff. [1]. Each volume contains an original engraved title page and 100 charming circular emblems making a total of 400 emblems employing a combined technique of etching and copper engraving depicting plants, animals, birds, and fish attributed to Hans Sibmacher with accompanying descriptive text. First published separately in 1590, the CENTURIA UNA was THE FIRST BOTANICAL EMBLEM BOOK and one of the first books to contain illustrations of plants on intaglio plates. Hunt 181; Landwehr German 166; Nissen 312. Minor dampstaining at the upper gutter extending toward the center of the page in some instances but usually quite light and never touching any emblem.
