The thirteenth volume in THE RIVERS OF AMERICA series. Illustrated by Andrew Wyeth. Copy #306 of 650 SIGNED by both the illustrator and the author. One of the better volumes in the Rivers of America series. Wyeth's signature is not very easy to obtain, and this is a fine, vintage example. Binding is firm, though the spine is dull.

Illustrated by the author. This copy INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the artist on the page with the publisher's logo: "For the Heyn's/with much love/HIRSCHFELD 7/77." In addition Hirschfeld has drawn an ORIGINAL SELF-PORTRAIT incorporating the Simon & Schuster spotlight transforming it into a bass that he is strumming. While signed books by Hirschfeld are still readily obtainable, those with original drawings, especially one such as this that superbly captures the artist's wit and imagination, have become quite scarce.
